Responsibilities

Quality & Aerospace Documentation Packages

  • Compile, verify, and deliver rigorous Certificate of Conformance (C of C) data books and documentation packages for aerospace shipments.
  • Audit supporting package records: Material Test Reports (MTRs), Mill Certs, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR per AS9102), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) results, special process certs (heat treat, welding, plating), and calibration logs.
  • Reconcile purchase order quality flow-downs and customer quality clauses (Q-Notes) against the completed document package to guarantee 100% compliance prior to product release.
  • Maintain customer portal access as required for customer-specific document transfers.

Document Control & AS9100 Rev D Compliance

  • Maintain and enforce document control procedures per AS9100 Rev D requirements, ensuring only current, approved engineering drawings, routings, work instructions, and specifications are in use on the shop floor.
  • Administer the Engineering Change Order/Notice (ECO/ECN) workflow, tracking approvals, updating revision logs, and archiving obsolete documents to prevent unintended use.
  • Coordinate customer-facing document submittals (SDRLs/CDRLs, deviation requests, and document approvals) and log return statuses.

ERP & Quality System Maintenance

  • Maintain digital document archives, traveler sign-offs, and certification records within the ERP/QMS software.
  • Support internal, registrar, customer, and regulatory (e.g., Nadcap, FAA, defense) audits by rapidly retrieving traceable objective evidence and quality records.
  • Manage record retention schedules per statutory, regulatory, and customer-specific duration requirements.
  • Prepare Inspection Reports for review and final sign off by QC inspectors.

Job Description

Required Qualifications

  • Design Expansion joints per customer and EJMA (Expansion Joints Manufacturers Association) requirements, ASME BPVC Section VIII, ASME B31.3. 
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales team to estimate cost of complex parts and special designs. 
  • Work with Business Development on new product development and development of production tooling and fixtures as needed for production. 
  • Establish work instructions and manufacturing processes. 
  • Initiate, review, and approve engineering changes. 
  • Review and support manufacturing process engineers with workflow documents including routers, inspection requirements, fabrication drawings, etc. 
  • Routinely review production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of approved process. 
  • Review Product Structure, Assembly Drawings, and BOM’s to meet the requirements for Quality, In-House Production, and Contract Manufacturing. 
  • Perform analysis of new and existing parts based on customer requirements including vibrational, thermal and fatigue. 
  • Perform a step-by-step Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) approach to identify possible product failures during development of new products with an eye toward the manufacturing and assembly process, and product quality. 
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar degree.
  • Proficient with CAD modelling and drafting software like Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards including AWS D17.1, AWSD1.1, ASME Section VIII, Section IX, EJMA standard.

Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Traceability
